Hello everyone! Fast Food chain Burger King recently launched it’s own loyalty scheme in the form of Your Burger King. Today we’re asking our classic question in a review – can it save you money and is it worth it?
The scheme is clearly a response to the MyMcDonald’s loyalty scheme which has been successful for their rivals. Burger King’s entry is very similar in style.
Note: All details of the Your Burger King scheme are correct at time of writing, but loyalty schemes are always subject to change based on what the company does!
This article is also based on the UK loyalty scheme – aspects may apply globally, but you’ll likely find some regional differences.
What is Your Burger King?
Your Burger King is a purchase and points based loyalty scheme linked to an app, where making any qualifying purchase will earn you coins that can then be redeemed for items.
You’ll earn points at a rate of 10 coins for every £1 spent – so a £5 purchase will net you 50 coins, and a £10 purchase 100 points.
How do I earn Your Burger King Points?
In order you earn points, you’ll need to sign up for an account and have the app installed on your phone.
Once you’ve done this, how you earn coins will depend on how you order.
Ordering in store
If you order in store, you’ll want to select the Loyalty Code option in the app, which will bring up a QR code.
Just present that to the cashier to scan it – or if they can’t scan it, the same page will also have a one time code linked to your account that they can enter.
An example of this can be found below:

Ordering at a Kiosk
If you’re ordering at a kiosk, you’ll need to look for an option to enter the one time code and make sure that’s entered before you complete your order.
Ordering on app
If you order in app, either for collection or delivery your coints will automatically be applied to your account given the linkage between your app and the rewards scheme.
Note that some stores do not allow you to order to store.
What rewards can I earn with Your Burger King?
The rewards with Your Burger King are tied into a number of tiers of different rewards.
What this means in practice is that you can either choose to cash in a lower amount of coins for a smaller reward, or save them up and get something more substantial.
Items at the lower end tend to be snacks or sides, and at the higher end you’ll find either the premium menu options or meals including a drink and a side.
We’ve listed below what’s presently available as the reward options available (just be aware these can change at any time, so you may want to check anything yourself!
Your Burger King Rewards at 150 coins
At 150 coins your reward options are:
- Chili Cheese Bites x6
- Chicken Nuggets x6
- Vegan Nuggets x6

- A Bacon Double Cheeseburger
- A BK Whopper
- A BK Plant-Based Whopper
- A Chicken Royale
- A Vegan Royale
- Nuggets x9
- Vegan Nuggets x9
- Chili Cheese Bites x9
(A note here: If nuggets or chili cheese bits are your reward of choice, cashing in the 150 x6 option twice on these and getting 12 is more sensible than x9 at 300 – it’s a bit of an odd design here).
Your Burger King Rewards at 400 coins
At 400 coins your reward options are;
- A Whopper Meal
- A Plant-Based Whopper Meal
- A Chicken Royale Meal
- A Vegan Royale Meal
- A Bacon Double Cheeseburger Meal

What is the Best Value use of My Burger King Coins?
We’d always say with schemes like this you should treat them as an add on extra and simply order what you’re going to enjoy the most. Whilst there’s clearly some duds in the smaller items, there’s not a huge amount of variety in menu prices to make value seeking massively worth it.
However, we have done a bit of number crunching to work out what the best value you can get at each level is:
At the 150 Coins level the best value is the Chicken Nuggets or Vegan Nuggets option.
At the 300 Coins level the best value is any of the BK Whopper, BK Plant-Based Whopper or the Chicken Royale.
At the 400 Coins level the best value is still the BK Whopper, BK Plant-Based Whopper or the Chicken Royale in meal form.
At the 500 Coins level the best value is the Steakhouse Angus
And at the 600 Coins level the best value is the Steakhouse Angus Meal.
A tips to maximise value
The meal options offer considerably more for your rewards coins than the straight menu items – so if you’re just below the redemption value it may be worth holding on until this point.
How do I cash in my Coins with My Burger King?
Two options here – you can either:
In the App, select the Rewards tab at the bottom of the screen and select your chosen redemption option.
On the Loyalty Code screen within the app, there’s a button below the QR code and one time code marked Add Rewards – simply select that and it will take you to the same place as above.

Offers with My Burger King
My Burger King also gives you access to a selection of offer to use when ordering or in store.
These change all the time but are worth taking a look at to see if you can save some additional money on something you’re buying in store anyhow.
I had some offers for meal deals for a Whopper or Chicken Royale that were roughly half the price of an item in store, which is a real saving. You’ll also still earn My Burger King Coins on any purchase.
To find and activate these offers, simply go into the app and select offers, then select either add to order (which will apply it to an app order) or if you select use in restaurant, it’ll add that you’re redeeming the voucher to your loyalty QR code for when you scan it with the cashier.
Overall Review of My Burger King
My Burger King has some strong points to it with some good moneysaving opportunities in the offers and rewards available in app.
Whilst the redemption options offer a lot of choice and it’s nice to have meals included, the many tiers hit the point of being a little confusing.
We’ve also knocked it down a little bit for the fact that whilst BK are trying to roll it out everywhere, My Burger King isn’t yet available in every store. It’s not always clear where you can and can’t use it, which isn’t great in a loyalty scheme.
Positives of My Burger King
- Rewards are fair for the value offers and earned relatively frequently
- Good offers in app which give value beyond loyalty scheme
- Reward offers allow for meals as well as one-off items
Negatives of My Burger King
- Scheme works in most stores, but not every store so some inconstency
- Redemption relatively easy, but occasionally intuitive to add rewards and offers.
- Occasional illogical design in reward options.
Is My Burger King free?
Yes, the loyalty scheme is completely free to sign up for and use, however you’ll need to make a purchase before you can cash in any rewards.
How do I sign up to My Burger King?
Just download the Burger King App in the App Store and the My Burger King scheme will automatically form part of your registration.
Do My Burger King points expire?
Yes, your points will expire 6 months after earning, so be quick!
