Hello everyone! I’m a big fan of Asian restaurant Wagamama, and cook from their various excellent recipe books quite a bit as well as it being a favoured dining out spot. Wagamama have just launched a new loyalty programme in the form of Soul Club, so I’m going to be reviewing that today and asking if it’s worth making a trip to Wagamama for this!
How does Wagamama Soul Club Work?
Wagamama Soul Club is a stamp based loyalty system, where you can earn a stamp to start to earn food and drink rewards, and is managed via the Wagamama Soul Club App.
Soul Club used to have a level system alongside stamps, but Wagamama have now simplified this to be solely a stamps based approach. Let’s see how this works.
Wagamama Soul Club Stamps
You’ll receive a stamp on your virtual loyalty card so long as you are spending more than £12, which can be via the following methods:
- Making an in restaurant spend of £12+, excluding tips/service. You must settle the full bill via the app to earn the stamp.
- When ordering for click and collect and spending £12+, again excluding tips/service. You must use the same e-mail address as your Wagamama Soul Club account is registered to.
- When ordering via Deliveroo and spending £12+, in case case excluding Deliveroo’s service and delivery fees and any tip. Again, you must use the same e-mail address as your Wagamama Soul Club Membership
Once you’ve received three stamps, you’re able to cash this in for a free side dish.
Once you’ve got six stamps, you can cash this in for a free main.
One thing I really like about Wagamama Soul Club if that if you’re dining in with others, you’ll all earn a soul club stamp when splitting the bill via the app (so long as each person has hit the £12 minimum spend).
Free Birthday Gyoza
You’ll also get awarded a free side of Gyoza to your reward wallet on your birthday. (Also check out our guide to UK Birthday freebies!)
How do I sign up for Wagamama Soul Club?
You’ll simply need to download the Wagamama App and then sign up for Soul Club via the app.
There’s no card or in store option, as everything is tracked via the app.
Free Food when signing up to Wagamama Soul Club
As an introductory offer, Wagamama are offering either a free Edamame bean or koko prawn crackers side as a benefit when signing up to Soul Club, as well as a bonus stamp.
You’ll be credited with this after your first qualifying visit to Wagamama after signing up.
To collect the reward, just follow the “how to redeem rewards” step below.
This is a temporary promotion that has been running since Soul Club was set up so has been fairly permanent, but this isn’t guaranteed in future.
How do I collect Wagamama Soul Club Stamps?
Once you’ve ordered in Wagamama, open the app and select to check in. You’ll need to confirm the branch you’re sitting in and the table number you’re at.
One thing I will note here is that it’s possible for multiple people to check in to the same table. This has a couple of advantages:
- So long as you are spending multiples of £12 (excluding tips and service), all those who are checked in at the table can earn a soul club stamp.
- This will give you the option to split the bill and pay individually if you are in a group setting.
On paying your bill via the app, you’ll automatically be given your soul club stamps for next time.
Alternative, if you pay for a click and collect order which has been made via the Wagamama app, you’ll receive your stamp at this point.
You can earn one stamp per day.
Earning Wagamama Soul Club Stamps on a Deliveroo Order
You can also earn a Wagamama Stamp when ordering via Deliveroo (also, check out our review of Deliveroo Plus!), which used to be part of the exclusions from Soul Club.
You don’t need to do anything extra to collect the stamp when ordering aside from making sure you use the matching e-mail address.
Important: Your Deliveroo e-mail address must be the same as your Wagamama Soul Club Account for your stamps to apply.

How do I redeem Wagamama Soul Club Rewards?
Firstly just to note that you can only redeem Wagamama Soul Club Rewards in-restaurant.
Redeeming a Wagamama Soul Club Reward (in-restaurant only)
- In the Wagamama Soul Club App, select to view your bill.
The app will show what you’ve ordered before any deductions, and now is a good time to check your bill.
- Switch on the use rewards toggle
Before proceeding, just above the bill you should see a toggle providing the option or not to use any rewards. Make sure this is on and the item should automatically be taken off.
(Please be aware that the free main or side reward will be automatically applied to the cheapest item on the order, and you’ll also need to hit a £12 minimum spend on other items). - Settle your bill
You can now pay your bill with your reward cashed in. Once you’ve settled your bill you won’t be able to make any further redemptions, and you’ll need to use any other vouchers on your next visit.
Can I redeem a Wagamama Soul Club Reward via Deliveroo?
No – Whilst you can earn rewards on click and collect or Deliveroo, you cannot spend this way.
Is Wagamama Soul Club Worth It? (Our Value Calculation)
Used with the better end of the redemption value, there is no question that over six visits, Wagamama Soul Club is a highly rewarding loyalty scheme.
Let’s run some quick math to show the illustrative value over six visits:
The Wagamama Soul Club Break-Even Math:
- Total Spend: 6 visits at £25 per visit = £150 total spend.
- Rewards Earned: 1 free side (at 3 stamps) and 1 free main (at 6 stamps).
- Value of Rewards: Mid-range side (£7.50) + Mid-range main (£16.00) = £23.50.
- The Verdict: At £23.50 saved on a £150 spend, you are getting an effective 15.6% return on your spending! This is obviously an estimate that will fluctuate depending on your actual order, but it illustrates how generous the scheme is.
Wagamama Rewards: What Free Food Do You Get For 3 and 6 Stamps?
You can choose any side dish after 3 stamps and any main dish after 6 stamps with Wagamama Soul Club. Let’s take a look at what offers the best value use of your Wagamama Soul Club Rewards.
We’d always advocate you simply cashing in your stamps for what you feel like at the time, but this is a personal finance site so let’s run through what’s the best value!
The best value side is the Tama Squid, which at time of writing was £9. If fish isn’t your thing, the chicken yakitori or kokopanko chicken are the next best options at £8.50.
The best value mains to cash in for are the grilled duck donburi, steak teriyaki soba or duck saku saku soba, all of which are £18 options.
Overall Review of Wagamama Soul Club
Verdict: Wagamama Soul Club is a very rewarding loyalty scheme with frequent and meaningful rewards. Stamps for the table and also on delivery orders make it even better, so we can’t fault it.
Wagamama Soul Club is a great new addition to the loyalty market. The rewards are pretty generous, with only three stamps being needs for a free side and another three being needed to redeem a free main, both of which can save you quite a bit of money.
We previously had this at 4.5 stars as you previously couldn’t earn Soul Club stamps on an order from a delivery service, something that a very popular option with Wagamama – however after they added it to the scheme, we really can’t find fault with Soul Club and upgraded to a rare 5 star review.
Advantages
- Stamps earned at achievable level at £12 spend
- Frequent rewards at every 3 and 6 stamps
- Full choice in redemption option create meaningful rewards
- Whole table can earn rewards with eligible spend
- Can earn rewards with Deliveroo as well
Disadvantages
- A rare case we can’t think of any.
